The First Kiss (excerpt continued)
“Close yer two eyes,” he said. “Twill be easier.”
She closed them, he pressed his lips to hers again and it was like
kissing the back of a hand.
“Part yer lips a small trifle,” he said, “and do this to wet yer
whistle.” He ran his tongue over his lips.
She did and shut her eyes. He kissed her again and this time he gently
took her lower lip between his lips and nibbled, a move that had served him
well in the past as a way to stir the juices.
She pulled away and laughed. “I think you’re hungry.”
“Did ya fancy it?”
She took his face between her hands, licked her lips, and kissed him
full on the mouth.
She
has the knack of it, he thought. The sweetest kiss in the parish,
and that’s no word of a lie.
